In November 2015 we came up with the idea of a social startup that combines coffee trade with positive change. Less than two months later we were already in Ethiopia – the home of coffee. We met coffee farmers, found local partners for our social projects and finally selected the first two tons of coffee.
Only half a year after having the idea, we were ready to go: sales started – dispatching from our one-room apartment in Zurich Kreis 4 to the whole of Switzerland. Apartment, office and coffee warehouse all together in just 35 square metres.
And love holds.
Likes to get up early – but can’t fall asleep in the evening when coffee or milk is missing for the next morning. Is responsible for communication and creativity. In her spare time, she likes to build furniture from things that are actually meant for something else. This is how the coffee-mobile, for example, was created.
Loves to be smoothly woken up by his wife with a scented cup of coffee. Likes talking to people – in their own language when it works. Is therefore responsible for deals and partnerships. He’s good with numbers and models, too. In his spare time he likes to find out how our food is produced.
